Connect 2 Change (“Connect 2 Change,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a survivor-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Sacramento, California. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, sign up for our newsletter, apply to or refer someone to the Academy, or sign up to mentor, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, and any details you choose to include in your message or form. Some of our forms are hosted by third-party services (for example, Google Forms), and the information you enter is provided to us through those services.

Donations. Donations are processed by our third-party donation partner, Zeffy. Payment details are entered on Zeffy’s platform and handled under Zeffy’s own privacy policy. We do not collect or store your card or bank information.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we may collect basic, non-identifying usage information such as pages visited, general location, and device or browser type, to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

How we use your information

• To respond to your questions and requests.
• To send our newsletter and updates, when you have asked to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To review Academy applications, referrals, and mentor sign-ups.
• To acknowledge and process donations.
• To operate, maintain, and improve our website and programs.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate, such as our email/newsletter provider (Mailchimp), form and hosting providers (for example, Google and Cloudflare), and our donation partner (Zeffy), and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of others.

Survivor safety and sensitive information

We care deeply about the safety of the people we serve. You are never required to disclose your experiences, trauma, or any sensitive personal information to use this site or to reach us. Please do not send sensitive personal details through website forms; if you need confidential support, use the resources on our Get Help page.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@connect2change.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

Cookies and analytics

We use limited, privacy-conscious analytics to understand site usage. We do not use your information for third-party advertising. Your browser settings let you control or block cookies.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
